The Research Project

The program focuses on 3 main pillars:

  • Transformation of the classroom: We explore feasible layouts and successive building models for Primary Schools, Middle Schools, and High Schools, with an emphasis on pedagogical ergonomics, flexibility, circularity, and collaboration.
  • Revision of building programs/specifications: We redesign existing buildings into a parameterized model that can be applied to Primary, Middle, and High School units.
  • Through participatory workshops with the educational community and close collaboration with regional/local authorities, we develop practices and design solutions for the classroom of the future.

The Objectives

  • Designing a new classroom that functions as an innovative environment with a strong pedagogical impact
  • Developing a new model for educational activity spaces: flexible and multimodal, based on activity-based design
  • Reassessing and specializing building programs/specifications for school units of all educational levels, with the active participation of local communities and services
  • Training and supporting educators in the use of new infrastructures, while also highlighting a new field of study: pedagogical ergonomics
  • Gradual integration of new standards into existing classrooms and development of models for future applications
